    SEBS-NA Meeting Minutes for September 2002

    A meeting of the SEBS-NA Executive Committee started at 5 pm EST on the Sept 29, 2002 at the ExComm meeting room at www.sebsonline.org. The following people were present:
    Kiran Sitoula, President
    Sagar Onta, General Secretary
    Yubraj Acharya, Treasurer
    Laxman Udas Pandey, Observer/ Ad-hoc Vice President


    · Laxman Udas Pandey was unanimously elected as the ad-hoc VP of SEBS-NA after 234B Amir confirmed that he was withdrawing his petition. Only two candidates had initially applied. LUP has accepted the position of ad-hoc vice President and SESB-NA congratulates LUP for taking this responsibility.
    · SEBS-NA to focus on writing for Grant proposal. Sagar and Yubraj to come up with list of potential donor.
    · Kiran mentioned that portion of $500 grant give by the World bank might be used to support the Nepali Language Class being currently run in DC. Details to be discussed in the future meetings.
    · Discussed about providing loan/grants to BNKS students who wants to go abroad. No decision was as the mechanisms are not in place yet.
    · Kiran to check on the status of current funds and see how much we have that can be used to help office admin in SEBS-Nepal.
    · Age old issue of batch reps were once again discussed and was determined that there is need for them. However consensus could not be reached on how to use them effectively.

    No contributions were received this month.
