    Minutes of the Meeting of the SEBS-NA Executive Committee

    Date: March 1, 2003
    Venue: Sebsonline.org and conference calls.
    Attendee(s): Kiran Sitoula-President, Laxman Udas Pandey – Vice President (ad-hoc), Sagar Onta-General Secretary, Yubraj Acharya-Treasurer.

    . Roopesh Joshi 572B’s request to join advisor for SEBS-NA was unanimously approved.
    . LUP 328B’s e-mail to be updated in the sebsna and excomm mailing lists. Rajan to take action.
    . SEBS has agreed to MoU. SEBS-NA waiting for signed copy.
    . It was agreed to send a monthly newsletter in March, 2003.
    . It was agreed to pay telephone bill for $30 to Telnepal for the 2 pins Sagar used one pin Kiran used to communicate to Nepal. In future cheaper options are to be explored.
    . Fund raising is to be initiated but given the current uncertainty of the North America job market and Iraqi crisis we will not know how members will react. However, he plan to coordinate fund raiser with SEBS and Kiran to initiate e-mail/phone conversation with SEBS excomm. Various categories have been identified, Library/Book Project – Kiran, Sports Project – Sagar and LUP and Yubaraj to identify areas of interest. However, it was agreed to have a coordinated approach was need for fund raiser.
    . Sagar to follow up with regards to Kellog proposal for SEBS.
    . Ujwal (Tumpak) to be requested via e-mail to help us give update of library situation in Nepal.
    . Kiran to obtain further information on status of internet project.
    . Idea of emergency fund for SEBS members was discussed but scope and definition of the word “emergency” could not be agreed so LUP is to do a feasibility study of this project.
    . It was recommended that SEBS Networking project be revisited so that information benefit only the SEBS members. It was agreed that Puskar and Diwaskar be consulted on this matter.


    Financial Update:
    . Yubaraj Acharya-Treasurer has been updated as a co-signer for SEBS-NA account with First Virginia’s Bank. He is to receive the monthly statement.

    - No contribution has been received since last meeting of October, 2002
