    SEBS AGM 2003 Held
    Author: SEBS
    Post Date: 8/25/2003
    SEBS annual general meeting was held on 16th August 2003 at the Nuptse hall of Birendra International Convention Centre, Baneshwore.

    Right Honourable Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, speaking at the programme, praised the novelty act of the young and energetic student youths done to the society and encouraged them to continue the spirit of integrity, novelty, creativity and instill the zeal of social service amongst the leisurely youth of the nation.

    In the programme, persons whose contributions have been of significance to SEBS development were felicitated by the honourable prime minister. Among those to be felicited were:
    1. Narayan Prasad Sharma, Principal, Budhanilkantha School;
    2. Gopal Sundar Lal Kakshyapati, FOBS Chairman;
    3. Govinda P. Adhikari, Chairman, UCEP-Nepal;

    Other key persons to speak at the ceremony were V.D. In the closed session, annual progress report was presented by the General Secretary, Rabindra Maharjan. In the two year tenure of Suraj Dahal as President, SEBS has seen a major hallmark achievements like friendly relation with the school, SEBS representation in BNKS board of management, acquaintance of life members from BNKS immediately after 12/A-level graduation; closer ties with FOBS and of course a thawed relation with its chapter SEBS-NA. However, financial report of SEBS for the year 2002-2003 seemed quite a doom to the progress report presented at the meeting.

    In the meeting, queries of selecting a person to represent at the BNKS management board, SEBS representation in FOBS and SEBS role in helping rebuilt BNKS fading away legacy were also discussed.

    As SEBS is growing complex with its transformation phase, it was stressed that there should be formation of more sub-committes rather than only one executive body and the ineffective advisory body.

    At around 1pm, in the afternoon an election committee was formed with Sushil Paudyal 303B as the election commissioner and Gyaneshwor Mahato 277B and Bhawana Paudyal 381C as the members.

    Apart from the top post, there were eight contestant members for the post of SEBS-executive member for the place of six. The two later withdrew their candidacy and new executive body for the year 2003-2004 was formed. The executive body consists of:
    President:- Prajesh Thapa 559B
