    SEBS-NA Executive Committee Meeting 12/12/2004

    The Executive Committee meeting of SEBS-NA was held via conference call at
    1pm PST on December 12th, 2004. Following members were present:

    Sagar Onta - President
    Promod Aryal - Vice President
    Aalok Kharel - General Secretary
    Kedar Koirala - Treasurer
    Kiran Sitoula - Immediate Past President

    Following issues were discussed in the meeting:

    AGENDA 1: WORKING GUIDELINE DEBRIEF
    Sagar Onta debriefed the executive committee on the recent signing of the
    Working Guidelines between SEBS and its Chapters. The guideline was signed
    in Sagar's recent visit to Nepal. The main points of the guidelies are:

    a) All projects where participation of Chapters are called for are going to
    be fall under the guidelines, under "Chapter Involved Projects"
    b) For all Chapter Involved Projects, representative of all the Chapters
    involved and SEBS will be included from the begining of the project,
    including Initiation Phase, Proposal Writing Phase etc.
    c) After agreement of the project, the Project Implementation Team (PIT)
    will be formed which will include representatives of all the Chapters
    involved and SEBS, in addition to other members required to implement the
    project. PIT will have all decision making power for the project.
    d) All projects will include 10% additional budget to be equally transferred
    to all involved Chapters and SEBS.

    AGENDA 2: FINANCIAL CLEARANCE AND ON-LINE
    Kiran Sitoula is going to transfer all treasurer duty and documentation to
    Kedar by December 25th. It was decided that the most current finances should
    be able to be viewed by the Treasurer and President. Other Excomm members
    and general SEBS members will be updated on the finances on regular basis.
    Kiran, Kedar and Sagar is going to work on the modalities. Kiran is also
    going to clarify the status of various EAF loans by December 25th.

    AGENDA 3: FUND RAISING
    It was decided that SEBS-NA would look into possibility of creating a
    mechanism where members will be able to directly deposit amounts to SEBS-NA
    account from their pre-tax payroll. Kedar and Kiran are going to research on
    the feasibility.

    All the excomm members will try to organise Fund Raising Momo Party for
    SEBS-NA. It was also discussed that SEBS-NA should create a program where it
    will support members who are willing to organize such an event. The program
    will include providing financial support to conduct the program, sending
    SEBS-NA information etc.

    AGENDA 4: SEBS ENDOWMENT FUND PLEDGE
    The SEBS-NA Executive Committee was supportive of the recently pledged NRs.
    150,000 to SEBS Endowment Fund by SEBS-NA. The pledge will be disburshed to
    the fund once the details of the fund are finalized by SEBS, and found to be
    in-line with the spirit of endowment funds.

    AGENDA 5: AALOK KHAREL and KEDAR KOIRALA'S UPCOMING VISIT TO NEPAL
    Aalok is leaving for Nepal on Tuesday, December 14th and Kedar around the
    first week of January. Both of them will try to arrange meeting with SEBS,
    BNKS and FOBS. They will represent SEBS-NA in the meetings, if held.

    The meeting ended at around 3:00 pm PST.
