Dinner organized to honor Puskar Shah
    Author: SEBS - North America
    Post Date: 10/31/2001

On October 19, 2001 SEBS North America organized a Dashain Dinner at Mount Everest Restaurant to honor Puskar Shah, World Cyclist who is carrying a "Message of Peace" to 152 countries in 11 years.

35 people were present at the dinner party. Guests included community leaders and friends of SEBS. We honored the courage of Mr. Pushkar Shah by presenting him a laser engraved glass with a quote from Chief Joseph of Nez Perch Indian Tribe who said,

    " Let me free man.
Free to travel. Free to stop.
Free to work. Free to choose my own teachers
Free to follow the religion of my fathers.
Free to think and talk and act like myself."

Kiran Sitoula, welcomed the invited guests from the Royal Nepalese Embassy and Nepalese Community. He also took the opportunity to introduce all the SEBS members to the local community leaders and high lighted SEBS's (both Nepal and North America) effort in giving back to the community. He also emphasized on the fact that we are not affiliated with any political parties and we welcome any opportunities to work together with other organizations for the greater welfare of the Nepalese everywhere.

Dr. Laba Karki (680A) and Mr. Simon Dhungana (780A) jointly presented a beautiful laser engraved glass award to Mr. Puskar Shah along with a signed SEBS-T shirt from all the guests and wished him continued success in his endeavor.
Solo entertainment provided by Mr. Puskar Shah about his Nilkantha grand father along with his stories from various countries and high lights of his missions made it an evening to cherish.

SEBS-North America also took the opportunity to welcome new SEBSers to the community. Swarnim Wagle (228) has moved to DC and is working in the World Bank. Sishir Bhattarai (581B) and Priyadarshani Joshi (687B) are working in IMF and both live in DC.

As SEBS continues to assume greater role in the community we should learn to think outside the box and focus in quality of the program we deliver.

SEBS would like to thank Mt. Everest Restaurant for providing 50% discount in food and beverages. SEBS members can get a 15% discount in the store if they notify the owner that they are SEBS members. It’s address is
