SEBS demands for the betterment of Budhanilkantha School
    to re-establish “Center of Excellence”

    1) Moral responsibilities of the principal to ask for resignations of the head of clinic and the housemaster related in the incident occurred.

    2) Clinical/medical infrastructure and services of the school clinic must be upgraded. The clinic should be manned by a professionally qualified staffs and general physician (specialists) on a regular basis.

    3) Catering – nutritionally balanced and hygienic diet must be provided according to the age of the students.

    4) Fair selection/recruitment (teacher/housemaster/students/staff) criteria:
    a) A “selection/admission committee” comprising of representatives from both SEBS and other representative/governing entities within BNKS (i.e. BOT, SMC, SMT, FOBS) should be in place immediately to re-look into the assignments. This is vital for fair and decentralized decision making, which is now predominantly made by the principal. The procedural modalities and other methodologies of selection/recruitment will then be decided by the new selection committees.
    b) Teachers training concerning teaching methods, interaction with students and dealing with various situations etc. that might arise should be required to uplift the standards of teachers.
    c) Well qualified, trained, matured teachers with considerable years of experience in dealing with students of all levels and backgrounds should only be appointed as the housemaster(s).

    d) Fair selection of students:
There should be proper and clearly defined and well-established systems/criteria for the fair selection of all incoming students (Grade 4, 11, A- level, and all other levels)

    5) Budget transparency:
All the financial matters of the school (administrative, financial, infrastructure development, contracts, bids etc.) as well as other like the e.g. scholarships, should be fully transparent and updated and readily available on demand by the authorized stakeholders of BNKS. The financial balance sheet of the school should be posted on the school notice board and a copy be mailed to all concerned bodies of the school (FOBS, SEBS, BOT, SMC, SMT, etc.)

    6) Discrimination:
There should not be any form of discrimination based on race, creed, caste, sex, social status, class, or even scholarship status of the students. This includes mental and/or physical harassment of individuals.

    7) Scholarship Policy:
Students provided with scholarships should retain it till graduation. Their status should not be changed in any year of their education. Students with scholarships should not be threatened by any member of faculty or staff by telling them that their status will be revoked. (Some cases of such harassments have come to our knowledge).

    8) Nepotism should be strongly discouraged unless they are of the required standards and go through the same rigorous process as others.
