    Events at BNKS - Where Does SEBS-North America Stand?(II)
    Author: Bhupendra Bilas Pant (550b)
    Post Date: 1/23/2007
    The recent demise of Aditya Panta (900 C) was an unfortunate incident. In response to accusation and issues raised in the sebsonline.org forum, SEBS-NA carried out consultations with current of BNKS School staff (SMT), students, and teachers and members of the SEBS in an effort to gather more information about the incident. We concluded that we have no evidence to suggest that school administration or the school clinic staff in any way directly contributed to the demise of late Aditya.

    However, we do agree with the core issues raised by the SEBS members in the forum. As expressed in the public forums of sebsonline.org, we agree that review and improvements are necessary in two areas:

    1) Handling of patients at the school clinic.
    2) Overall educational standard including education equipment, teacher quality at senior level etc.

    We also want to mention that the BNKS School and the Ministry of Education and Sports have formed various committees to look into various aspects of this incident. We look forward to hearing from these committees.

    We feel that working with School, SEBS, and FOBS to bring about those changes will be best way to attain the above mentioned objectives. SEBS-NA will strive( and update members regularly through sebsonline) to achieve the above mentioned objectives by

    • Providing resources to the school;
    • Actively working with the school to be more transparent and committed towards attaining those goals; and
    • Regular interacting with current students and SEBS members for feedback.

    Please feel free to contact us at sebsna@sebsonline.org for any comments or suggestions.
