Web Help Needed for NSP's Website
Author: Vidhan Rana, Secretary - NSP-NA
    Post Date: 5/3/2007
The Nationwide Scholarship Program (NSP) is currently looking for a web savvy person to help us update our website .

As announced earlier, SEBS-North America recently formed a new NSP - North America team to help coordinate fund raising activities in US and Canada to aid NSP's work in Nepal. Since its inception in 1991, NSP has been giving back to the localities that the students of Budhanilkantha School represent by providing scholarships to needy high school students.

In 2004-05, SEBS NSP in partnership with DEPROSC implemented Sustainable Doko Dai Mobile Library Project funded by World Bank. The project provided mobile library services, scholarships, and training from Regional Community Centres (RCCs) established at Barabise, Sindhupalchowk and Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur.

Bijaya Babu Shiwakoti(300C), the current chairperson of NSP, is doing tremendous work in Nepal and your support will greatly enhance NSP's outreach and effectiveness. As part of our effort, we are embarking on a major fundraiser in June. Before we begin our fund-raising drive, we would like to update our website to make it friendlier to donors. We would also like to include new organizational and financial information in the website to improve our transparency.

Overall, we would like to change the general outlook of the website, which has remained unchanged for the last few years.

Upon completion of this primary task, you will have an opportunity to join our team and serve as a webmaster for NSP's website for a two-year term. Depending on your interest and other commitments, you will be able to assume more responsibility within the team.

Apart from the regular scholarship program, NSP is collaborating with a Santi School Project, a newly established non-profit in the U.S., to build a school in Sindhupalchowk District. We will provide more information on this endeavor soon.

If you are interested in helping us with this project, please call me at (202) 316-4574 or email me at nspna@sebsonline.org.

    Vidhan Rana
    Secretary – NSP-NA
