Land Purchased for Shanti Primary School in Ramche
Author: Bijaya Babu Shiwakoti, Chairperson- NSP
    Post Date: 10/1/2007
The ad-hoc School Management Committee of the Shanti Primary School has purchased 2 ropani and 13 aana of land for the school building construction in Ramche VDC, Sindhupalchowk district. The total cost for the plot was NRs. 140,000 (one hundred forty thousand only) and was purchased in the name of Bishnu Bdra Tamang and Bisharjan Tamang, both the members of the School Management Committee. (This had to be done as the school has not yet been registered with the District Education Office).

This is part of the Shanti School Project being jointly undertaken by Shanti School Project (SSP), SEBS NA, NSP and the local community. (For more information please visit the link http://santischool.org.) The building construction is expected to start from December. The building design is being finalized with inputs from all the stakeholders.

The project aims to register the school with the District Education Office and start the classes from the coming academic session- mid April 2008. The local community and authorities are enthusiastic about this project and have committed to extend their support to it.
