NSP-NA Team Looking for New Members
    Author: Vidhan S. Rana
    Post Date: 7/26/2008
    Dear Members,

The NSP-NA team is pleased to announce that we are currently looking for new executive committee members to serve in our team for 2008/2009.

Our most notable project this past year was the Santi School Project. The project began when SEBS-NA members met Chris Heun, a native from New York, during the ANA Convention in 2006. Chris wanted the support of SEBS-NA and NSP to build a school in Ramche, a remote village about four hours northeast of Kathmandu.

The construction for the school building started in September 2007, following an active fundraising for the school earlier this year. SEBS-NA, through its sub-committee NSP-NA, made a commitment of $5,000 for the school project. The total estimated budget for the school stands around $40,000, which includes operating expenses for the school for two years. So far we have raised over $30,000 for the school, of which $3,000 was raised by NSP-NA. The school is currently operating with over 60 students and three teachers

After a successful year with Santi School Project, the NSP-NA team is expanding to enhance its support to NSP's core program, which is providing scholarship to students who are in need and deserving all across Nepal.

Here are a few things you should know before you contact us:

    - We expect you to make at least a one-year commitment; a two-year commitment is preferable.

    - On average, time commitment required from a member in our team is less than two hours a week, except when we have fundraising events.

    - Based on your interests, you will get to choose whether you want to work on Santi School Project or help NSP with its core program.

    - Our work primarily involves fundraising but we will need people with web designing and grant writing experience for the coming year.

Please visit www.santischool.org or www.nsp.sebsonline.org for more information and contact us at nspna@sebsonline.org if you have any further questions.

If you are interested in joining the team, please email us at nspna@sebsonline.org.

    NSP-NA Executive Committee Member
