Statement by the President to include SEBS rep. in probe com
    Author: SEBS
    Post Date: 10/15/2009
The Ministry of Education has decided to form a probe committee to investigate on the allegation involving misuse of public funds by the principal of Budhanilkantha Schoo, Mr Narayan Prasad Sharma.

SEBS had issued a statement on 13th October 2009 demanding formation of a probe committee and to include a representative of SEBS in the probe committee. As per a reliable source from the Ministry, the Ministry is about to declare the 3 member probe committee consisting some officials from the Ministry itself, and trying to exclude SEBS from being part of the probe committee. The committee to be formed under a convenorship of Dr Lab Dev Awasthi (JS, MOE), Mr Balaram KC (Director of MOE-RED) and Deputy Director from Department of Education cannot probe the matter impartially without SEBS representation. Thus SEBS will be unable to accept such investigation carried out by one sided committee. We demand the concerned authority to include SEBS representative in the probe committee that to be declared soon.

The SEBS, an alumni, established 28 years ago has emerged as one of the largest civil society organizations in Nepal with over 3000 members with network in all 75 districts of Nepal and 40 countries across the globe.

    President, SEBS
