    June 7, 2010, Kathmandu;

    SEBS President Suresh Acharya held talks with the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Mr Madhav Prasad Ghimire at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar today.

    They discussed about the works of the SEBS and recognizing the accomplishment of the SEBS in the last 29 years of its founding.

    Likewise, SEBS President Acharya also held talks with the honourable member of the National Planning Commission (NPC) Dr Tirtha Khaniya and honorable member Dr Ganesh Gurung about the possible cooperation between the SEBS and the government agencies, particularly on issues related to management of scholarship schemes for talented but poor students in remote areas of the country.

    Dr Khaniya has proposed a tripartite meeting of the SEBS, NPC and Ministry of Education after a week to discuss matters on piloting a scholarship programme in the upcoming fiscal year. Dr Khaniya has suggested the SEBS to submit a detailed project document in the next round of the joint meeting.
