    FOBS New ex-comm formed: SEBS facilited the process

    The Friends of Budhanilkantha (FOBS) held its Annual General Assembly yesterday at Budhanilkantha School Kathmandu with the participation of about 400 parents. The election of the new executive committee of the FOBS was also held for the next 2 year tenure.

    During the AGM, the SEBS was given opportunity to make a presentation on the SEBS and BNK School. SEBS President Suresh Acharya gave a very insightful powerpoint presentation on issues related to the inception of Budhanilkantha School to date, including the works of the SEBS. Many parents, namely Dr Dwarika Das Shrestha (SEBSers), Ms Saru Joshi (women activist), Ashwin Pudasaini (banker), Lalit Basnet (lawyer), Aghni K. Kattel (Farmer/Solukhumbhu), Mrs Radha Shrestha (professional), Narendra Wagle (social activist), Junar Babu Basnet (journalist), Sitaram Baniya (social worker)etc. thanked the SEBS for such a brillliant and resourceful presentation.

    The assembly of the parents unanimously nominated SEBS President Acharya as a Facilitator to bring consensus amongst the contestants of the election in the FOBS. The team of facilitator included Subir Khanal (outgoing chairperson of the FOBS) and Sahajman Shrestha (parents representative) was also appointed the member of the Facilitation Committee. There were 36 aspirants in the fray for the election of 6 seats in the FOBS executive committee. However, following almost 5 hours of hectic parleys by the fascilitators with the contestants a consensus was reached for the nomination of 6 members and 2 co-opted members of the FOBS. The following parents have been selected in the FOBS unanimously: Harendra Pradhan, Bishnu P. Neupane, Lalit Basnet, Devendra Jha, Ashwin Pudsaini, Mrs Benju Dhungel Lamichhane, Mahendra Bista and Mrs Anuradha Sharma.

    The SEBS is being represented in the FOBS by Tulshi Ramtel, General Secretary of the SEBS ex-comm. GS Ramtel had also participated the FOBS AGM.

    The SEBS has received donations amounting to Rs 1420 from parents at the AGM.

    At the end of the AGM Principal NP Sharma congratulated all the new office bearers of the FOBS executive committee.
