World Peace and Love Cycle Rally Organizing committee team has left for Lumbini to conduct their study.
    Author: SEBS Spokesperson
    Post Date: 2/11/2002
    Monday, 11th february 2002.

As our members must be aware, SEBS is organizing a World Peace and Love Cycle Rally from Kathmandu to Lumbini, in assistance of the Nepali World Cyclist Pushkar Shah, on the eve of Buddha's birth date. We expect about a 100 native and foreign participants for this event which would be covered by national and international media alike.

The proposed route for the rally scheduled for June/July is as follows:

    [Start] Kathmandu -- Naubise -- Malekhu -- Munglin -- Narayanghat -- Kawasoti -- Butawal -- Bhairahawa -- Lumbini [Finish]

SEBS urges its members to make every possible contribution to this noble effort. The event requires funds and volunteers.

The Organizing Committee will especially find information and proposals on/from sponsors, partial sponsors and donors very helpful. Members worldwide can send in their donations and pledges for donations to the Organizing Committee. Any suggestion regarding the organization of the event will be very much welcome.

SEBS members living along the route are requested to explore their resources [sponsors, donors, hosts] and capacities locally, for a tentative 150 persons, including cyclists and organizers.

SEBS members living abroad are urged to help in this event by financially sponsoring and/or lending their moral support by spreading the word about this event.

The Organizing Committee of a team of 5 members, left for a feasibility study of the route on 7th February, Thursday, at 11:30 am NST.

A detailed report on the feasibility will soon be put online, once the team completes its report.
