    SEBS 30th Annual General Assembly held: New Ex-comm elected

    The Society of Ex Budhanilkantha Students (SEBS) 30th Annual General Assembly was successfully held electing a new Executive Committee of the SEBS (SEBS Ex-comm) for the tenure 2012-2013 A.D.

    SEBS annual general meeting kicked-off with the introduction of participants of the AGM. Despite, all Nepal transport strike and heavy rain more than 150 SEBSers, including about 20 lady members participated in the inaugural session of the AGM, which lasted for about 2 hours. This was the highest turn-up of lady members in any SEBS AGM before.
    Welcoming the guests and participants on behalf of the SEBS Ex-comm, SEBS Vice President Bolaram Pandey expressed that the upcoming Ex-comm would be able to continue the good works undertaken in the past and start new initiatives to attract more and more members towards the activities of the SEBS.

    During the inaugural session the Chief Guest of the AGM Narayan Prasad Sharma, the Principal of Budhanilkantha School highlighted on the roles of the SEBS and Budhanilkantha School in upholding the reputation of both institutions. He also shed light that the dignified presence of SEBS representation in the Board of Trustees (BOT) and School Management Committee (SMC) is very crucial in maintaining the bond between and linkages with various stakeholders of Budhanilkantha School.

    Prior to this, the chair requested all four Batch Group/s (BG) to speak about the SEBS and the AGM. Speaking from BG A, Gyanendra Raj Pandey told the gathering that the SEBS should always remain as a uniting force amongst the SEBSers. Representing BG B, Bijaya Babu Siwakoti highlighted the essence of being a SEBSer and the role any member can play for the community. Likewise, representing BG C, Tulsi Ramtel, expressed his happiness over the overwhelming participation in the 30th AGM.

    SEBS President Suresh Pd Acharya, from the chair, said that SEBS members should keep-up their integrity, because this is the only way to excel in any field of dwellings. He told the gathering that bringing physical benefits to any organisation is as important as bringing ethical and moral transformation in it. He said, he was happy to leave a stronger SEBS after three years of exciting tenure to give opportunity and space for the new Turks and younger generation to lead the SEBS to a new height. President Acharya said, "Today is a great moment in my 30 years of affiliation with SEBS, because, I feel proud that I was able to make the SEBS, an attractive place to serve and contribute to the fraternity, nation and humanity. The great energy flow and resurgence amongst SEBSers in today's AGM is an indication of SEBS dynamism and bright future." He told the gathering that the SEBS 30th AGM was a memorable and historic event in its 30 years life, which would be a great start for the new Ex-comm to come-up latter today.

    The inaugural session ended for a break of about 60 minutes, where SEBSers were able to introduce themselves and intermingled with other members of the fraternity. The break was enjoyed with snacks and tea.

    After the second sessions started at 4:00 pm, SEBS President proposed amendments in the SEBS Article of Association. The amendmets were discussed in the AGM and ratified unanimously.

    According to the new amendment of 2069 BS, the SEBS tenure shall be one year, one First Vice President has been added in the ex-comm, and the Election Committee of the SEBS shall be constituted by the outgoing executive committee instead of AGM.

    Before the election, the SEBS Ex-comm presented several annual reports of the Fiscal Year 2068/069. SEBS Treasurer Suman Mandal presented annual financial statement of the SEBS. Likewise, SEBS President Suresh Pd Acharya presented SEBS-NSP annual income and expenditure details. As per the financial statement SEBS-NSP had budget surplus of NRs 3,614, 877. 35 at the end of Asadh 2068. Similarly, on behalf of the SEBS General Secretary Upendra Bom, SEB President Acharya tabled the General Secretary's Annual Report for the ratification by the AGM. The 30th AGM endorsed all reports unanimously.

    As per the amendment in the Article of Association, the elections for the new ex-comm was organised. For the first time in the history of the SEBS a full-fledged election contests were held between two parallel panels one, led by Tejsu Malla and another led by Tulsi Ramtel.

    According to the Election Committee headed by Gyanendra Raj Pandey comprised of members Dr Bishwa Dawadi and Deepak Shah, the follwing SEBSers were declared elected in the new ex-com for the year 2012-2013:

    1) President -Tejsu Malla 248C
    2) 1st Vice President -Bidhur Adhikari 171B
    3) Vice President -Bidhyman 806C
    4) General Secretary - Kaushal Raj Sapkota 041C
    5) Treasurer -Suman Mandal 243C
    6) Executive Member -Sneedha Mainali 100 C
    7) Executive Member -Samrat Rayamajhi 229C
    8) Executive Member -Sandeep Sada 672C
    9) Executive Member -Sambhujit 909C
    10) Executive Member -Rajesh Nepali 920C
    11) Executive Member -Ishan Pokhrel 345C
    12) Executive Member -Sabril Lamichanne 205D


    The outgoing SEBS Ex-com headed by Suresh Pd Acharya is scheduled to handover the charges of the SEBS to the newly elected SEBS Ex-comm headed by Tejsu Malla on 13th August Monday at SEBS Office at 6:00 pm amidst a function.
