    7th SEBS Minute meeting

    Minute 7

    Date: Novemeber10th (25th Kartik), Saturday
    Venue: SEBS Office, Putalisadak.
    Time: 2 pm to 5 pm


    The 7th SEBS meeting was held on Novemember 10th, Saturday at SEBS Office under the chairmanship of SEBS President Dr. Tejsu Singh Malla. Following issue was discussed and decision was made.
    General Secretary Kaushal Raj Sapkota 041C is currently in Pakistan.

    1.Absent of Executive committee Members

    This grave issue was discussed, and it was found that some of the Executive committee members were not attending the SEBS meeting inspite of informing them a week earlier and reminding them time again. It was also informed that notice of SEBS Meeting has been also posted in a closed SEBS Executive Member Facebook group and SEBS online. The members who have missed 3 consecutive meetings will be immediately issued a letter for clarification, and if they fail to clarify within 5 days, then will be removed from the Executive member as per SEBS Constitution 15.7

    2.Office computer

    As discussed in the 6th minute meeting, this important issue was discussed again. The SEBS Office computer is not in the SEBS office, it was sent for repair by the past Ex.Com, and was not in the office ever since the current ex.com took the responsibility of the office. According to the audit report for F/Y 2068/2069, the computer has been evaluated as Computer IV, worth Rs.28, 000.
    Despite repeated telephone call, the concern people have turned a deaf ear and we have not been able to retrieve the computer. Thus, it was decided to issue a public notice in the name of Mr. Tulsi Ramtel, Vice President of SEBS 2011/2012, regarding this issue soon via sebsonline. If inspite of the public notice the concern person do not response SEBS will take action as per SEBS Constitution 9 clause.


    3.SEBS Financial Statement from Shrawan 2069 to date.

    SEBS Financial statement was presented by SEBS Treasurer Mr. Suman Mandal 263 “C”.
    He informed that SEBS was handed over with a balance of Rs. 4,639 in Agriculture Development Bank, Putalisadak and Rs.1000/-in BBC, Joshi Complex, New Road.
    The current ex.com was had the liability of paying house rent of Rs.5,000 and Office Secretary Ms.Goma Sharma One month salary of Rs. 7,500 i.e. total of 12,500/- from the past Executive committee.
    Currently SEBS has a positive balance of Rs.1, 28,898.93, Excluding SEBS-NSP.

    4.SEBS Deusi bhailo programme

    Mr. Sandeep Sada 672C, coordinator of Deusi Bhailo programme informed the progress of the programme, and that he had already started and will be delivering the letters to SEBSer. SEBSer would also be informed via telephone call and asked for suitable time.
    The SEBS Executive Committee 2012-2013, request our valued SEBS Members to invite us at your premises ,provide the time suitable for you so that we can wish you and your family happy Deepawali.
    We would also appreciate if the member’s would issue cheque in the name of SEBS, instead of Hand cash, so as to ensure transparency. Please do take the receipt and help SEBS.

    5.I.P. Memorial Art competition

    Programme coordinator of I.P. Memorial Art competition, Mr. Rajesh Nepali informed about the progress of the programme. The Art competition is schedule for the month of December 1, 2012.
    Interested School can call SEBS Office at 4411390. We request our members to take the word to interested schools.

    6.Binod Memorial Dance Competition

    The programme coordinator of Binod Memorial Dance Competition Dr.Tejsu Singh Malla informed the ex.com that letter for sponsor has already been sent. The programme is schedule to be in December. Letters to school would be sent after the Tihar Festival.
    Any interested sponsor as well as constructive suggestion is welcome. We welcome you to visit SEBS Office, Putalisadak.

    7.SEBS NSP Progress and financial report

    Mr.Lalit and Rajan Pathak from SEBS-NSP presented the SEBS Progress and financial report, but they will also be presenting written financial transaction as well as the activities within 7 days. It was informed that currently 100 students are receiving the scholarship out of which 78 has been continued from last year and 30 scholarships has also been issued. The SEBS-NSP will be presenting the name of the students, the school they are in and other detail information along with financial transaction report.


    8.Life Membership of all current Ex.com members and renew of Active membership (sakriya sadkchya).

    In the 7th minute meeting, Mr. Suman Mandal 263 “C” became the Life member of SEBS. It was also discussed that the Executive members of the SEBS must lead by example, so all the Ex.com member was requested to take the life membership at Rs.1, 500. Those who are not taking the life members must take the active membership (Sakriya Sadkchya) within next minute meeting.
    So far, the current SEBS Ex.com Has issued 33 life members this year.

    9.Clearance of Office Secretary Ms.Goma Sharma’s salary for the month of Shrawan.

    As per the written application of Ms.Goma Sharma dated 14th October 2012, the SEBS Ex.com decided to clear the salary of Ms. Goma for the month of Shrawan. This salary was liability of previous SEBS Committee.

    10.Collection of Aastha advertisement money worth Rs.24,500

    As per the handover the past Ex. Committee, Rs.24, 000 needed to be collected from various organizations.
    An E-mail has been sent to Club QFX (Rs.10,000), Gaurishankher Development Bank Ltd. (Rs.3000), Supra Inventica Pvt Ltd. (Rs.5000), Kumari Bank Ltd (Rs.3,500) and Popular Auto works (Rs.3,000).So, far Club QFX, Popular auto works and Supra Inventica Pvt.Ltd. has responded.
    It was also found out that payment by Popular auto works had been already made to the past executive committee, and was seconded by office secretary Ms.Goma Sharma.

    11.Spontaneous Issues:

    A)SEBS-Medicos health camp:

    Dr. Tejsu informed the member’s that the SEBS-Medicos (The Medical Wing of SEBS) in partnership with Himalayan Family Health Care Project (www.himalayanfamilyhealthcare.org) organized a two-day health camp in Thoche Village of Manang District which offered free medical and dental evaluation and treatment to the villagers .The programme was held on from October 27 to Novemember 5th , 2012 where as the 2 day health camp was held on October 31 and Novemember 1st.The Program Coordinator from SEBS was Dr. Binod Jha(500B)
    Dr.Tejsu also informed that this is the first time SEBS-Medicos has partner with Himalayan Family Health Care Project. Other Partnering Organizations of Himalayan Family Health Care beside SEBS Medicos are, nobel prize for peace 2011 nominee, Wings Of Hope (www.wings-of-hope.org),Saint Louis University School of Medicine and Patan Hospital.
    Himalayan Family Health Care, Founded in 2009 by Dr. Devi Gurung States, a U.S. resident seeks to improve the health of children and their families in the Manang District and surrounding regions of Nepal.
    SEBS would like to thank Dr. Bishwaraj Dawadi, President of SEBS Medico’s and Dr. Binod Jha (Programme Coordinator) for the wonderful work they have done. SEBS would also like to thank following Sebser involved in the programme:

    B)NSP Scholarship

    It was also informed to the committee that on behalf of SEBS-NSP, Dr.Tejsu talked with the headmaster of the local school in Tal, Manang. Mr. Bhim Bhadur Karki, Headmacster of Shree Chanu Secondary School was very happy to know about the scholarship provided by the NSP, and he will be sending the necessary documents for the scholarship.
    SEBS-NSP hopes to cover all the 75 district of Nepal, and if the scholarship is awarded to the students of Manang, then we would have only 4 districts more to cover.
    SEBS NSP Chairperson (Mr.Lalit) thanked Dr.Tejsu for the effort.

    C)Book Donation

    A request letter for book donation was made to SEBS by Shree Adhunik Rstriya School. The school based in Hetauda, has a library but is lacking books. Dr.Tejsu Singh Malla, SEBS President pledge that he would be personally donation 100 books.
    Mr.Surendra Shakya (100A) will be coordinating the programme from Hetauda side, and we are currently looking for dynamic SEBS members to coordinate the programme.
    Any SEBS Member willing to coordination this Book Donation Programme from Kathmandu side, is requested to contact the SEBS Office, Putalisadak.

    D)Teach For Nepal Fellowship

    A brief telephone conversation occurred with Ms.Geeta from Teach for Nepal and SEBS President Dr. Tejsu. SEBS and TFN is working for possibility of a joint venture between the two organizations. The earlier meeting to be held between the organizations’s had to be cancelled due to festival season, and will be rescheduling after the festival.

    E)Final Finacial report of SEBS Dashain Celebration with CoAS Gen. Gaurav S.J.B.Rana

    The final financial report of the SEBS Dashain Celebration with CoAS Gen. Gaurav S.J.B Rana has been made available.
    The total cost of Rs.4, 18,762 was the expense of the programme and total cost of Rs.1, 13,700 has been the total income. The deficit of Rs.3, 05,062 has been sponsored by E-Spot Nepal. Also SEBS Has been able to raise about Rs.30, 000 from the display of Banner’s of SEBSer Ventures.
    We would like to thank the programme coordinator Mr. Rakesh Vaidya (900A), Mr.Bolaram Pandey (900A), Dr.Tejsu(248C), E-spot Nepal, Wedding Nepal and BBC for making the programme a success.

    F)Resignation of VC of KU, Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma

    The issue raised by some of the SEBS members was put forward in the meeting. It was discussed as the BOT/SMC has not call an official meeting , SEBS have not been informed regarding the progress of Principal Selection and what effect will the resignation of VC of KU Dr.Sharma would have in the principal selection. However, SEBS would be requesting Mr.Suresh Acharya, SEBS representative in BOT/SMT for further information.

    G)Resolving class 5 Entrance preparation books.

    This issue has come up and it was told that the past Executive committee had taken some Budhanilkantha School class 5 Entrance preparation books for sale, but has not given the where about the books. So it was decided to discuss this issue in the next meeting after an official request has been made by BBC.
