    SEBS ex comm 4th minute meeting

    The 4th SEBS meeting was held under the chairmanship of SEBS President Dr. Sneedha Mainali
    Following issues were discussed and decided accordingly as mentioned below:

    1. Welcoming new member
    The ex-com welcomed their new member Shreeyans Khatri 383 D.

    2. SEBS participated in BBC AGM
    SEBS president Dr. Sneedha Mainali and VP Suman Mandal participated in the BBC AGM which was held in Nirvana Wellness center Jawlakhel. SEBS has vowed to collaborate with BBC in fostering the partnership between the two as we see this as a major source for increasing revenue for SEBS.

    3.SEBS office venue
    The rent expense for SEBS, including NSP, is a bit expensive, so we have started looking for other options in this regard. 3075D Rasik Bhattarai has been given the responsibility to explore different options for the new office venue and present a report to the ex-com within 2 weeks time.

    4. NSP updates
    A meeting was held few days back. NSP team submitted a page of financial statement to SEBS. The statement was unsatisfactory. Due to different circumstances both Rajan and Lalit has resigned from their post. SEBS Ex-com has approved their resignation. SEBS Exective Comittee Member, Sharad KC, has been given the post of acting coordinator for 3 months for further investigation, who will be getting the salary as of Rajan.

    5. Signatory change in NSP banks accounts
    NSP has accounts in 4 different banks namely-Manakamana, NCC, Lumbini finance and yeti finance. A letter will be sent to all the banks for the signatory change.

    6. Tennis court updates
    We have started work on renovating the tennis court. 212C Deepak is helping us with the measurements and estimation of the court. Fund raising is planned to start after 2 months. If everything goes smoothly, 6 months is total estimated time for the renovation. Actual plan is to be made in next ex-com meeting. Kaushal Raj Sapkota 041C is given the responsibility to coordinate the renovation.

    7. Updates by the treasurer
    House rent has been paid up to Manshir, but office secretary has not yet been paid. NRs. 10,012 cash has been flowed out. SEBS is in loss. But NRs. 70,000 needs to be collected from Budhanilkantha School. Sagun Lawati needs to pay approx NRs. 10,000 to SEBS. And NRs. 10,000 needs to be collected from Navin Shrestha. Most of the expense of SEBS has been for the printing of SEBS t-shirt and Aastha magazine.

    8. SEBS president visit to Birjung
    Dr. Sneedha Mainali visited Birjung last week. SEBSers there are planning to have a grand gathering soon. 13 membership forms will be send to Birjung as some BNKS pass outs still were not members of SEBS.

    9. Membership official
    Asmita Adhikari 3176D is given the responsibility of membership official, whose responsible to distribute membership cards to recent pass out students of BNKS and to increase the number of membership holders.

    10. SEBS facebook page
    SEBS ex-com is planning to open a SEBS facebook page. This page will be open for the general public as well. This way we can reach out to a broader community for our activities.
    11. Teachers training
    The A-level result for English language in the school has been poor over the past few years. Mabindra Regmi dai is planning to give BNKS teachers a training session. Kushal Raj Pandey 217C is given the responsibility to coordinate the training sessions.

    12. Endowment fund
    The discussion on establishing an endowment fund is already underway with the school. Vidhan Rana and Sandesh Dhungana of 300C batch have taken the initiative in preliminary work and will be coordinating with SEBS-NA and SEBS respectively regarding the establishment of the fund. A meeting with the school principal, Mr. Keshar Khulal, was held on 8th January, 2014 Wednesday attended by Sandesh Dhungana, Vidhan Rana, Mithilesh Adhikari and Sharad KC. Khulal sir was extremely positive in extending the full support of the school in making this project successful.
