    minute 14 (earthquake relief)

    Minute 14
    Date: May 13, 2015 Wednesday

    The14th SEBS meeting was held under the chairmanship of SEBS President Dr. Sneedha Mainali

    Following issues were discussed and decided accordingly as mentioned below:

    Decisions
    1. Earthquake of May 12, 2015 resulted in some changes in our relief and reconstruction project. Listed below are the decisions taken by the Executive committee (Ex-com) analyzing current circumstances.
    a. SEBS is accountable foremost to its members understands its value the Executive committee has decided to access the immediate relief needs to follow SEBSers. The Executive committee requests SEBSers to send in their personal requirements in the form of an e-mail at sebs.communication@gmail.com dedicated significant numbers of traps for SEBSers.

    b. Upon the receipt of needs of SEBSers the Executive committee will design of coordinate a fund raiser strategy. We hope everyone supports in this essential endeavors.

    c. SEBS is moving towards its penultimate phase of relief. SEBS is currently focused on providing final set of relief materials and identifying places for distribution. Then after, an independent accountant and lawyer would be hired to evaluate and comment on the accountability, So as to maintain transparency of the project. All reports shall be shared in our official communication platform.


    d. The next step in our response to earthquake would be to design and successfully execute a reconstruction project. The Ex-com has nominated following members for the project.

    8. Bijay Babu Shivakoti

    We request you to convey your thoughts in selecting 7 members for the committee. The committee can select members for required sub-committees.

    2. Generous contributions of all donors, contributors, volunteers and everyone involved in the relief project has been appreciable. The Ex-com would like to thank everyone for their involvement and expect for continuous support. SEBS will be distributing letters and certificates to appreciate and recognize your support. Since our immediate priority is towards earthquake relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction, dispatch of letters will take some time.


    3.* Understanding the need of active Ex-com members and valuing the responsibilities of Ex-com members as per our Article Of Association (AOA) there has been 1 new appointment. Krishna Chettri 100B has been appointed as an Ex-com member. Krishna Chhetri will specially take care of all communications between SEBS of SEBS-NA for earthquake relief response. The new Executive committee will constitute of the following members.
    1. Sneedha Mainali – President
    2. Vidhan Rana – 1st Vice President
    3. Suman Mandal - 2nd Vice President
    4. Sabril Lamichhane – General Secretary
    5. Kushal Rai Sapkota – Treasurer
    6. Sarad KC - Member
    7. Shreeyans Khatri – Member
    8. Biswas Chepang - Member
    9. Sudeep - Member
    10. Ashmita - Member
    11. Vijay Tandukar - Member
    12. Krishna Chhetri - Member
    13. Tejsu Singh Malla – IPP

    * Note:-
    Decisions will be taken in the presence of at least 7 members (quorum) of the Executive committee. If the Quorum is not available for signatures, the president has the right to take consensus over the phone, or decide during unavailability.
