SEBS-North America Excomm Meeting Minutes
When: April 13, 2002, & April 28, 2002 11:00 am – Noon EST. Where: Phone Conversation Who: Kiran Sitoula – President, SEBS-NA Sagar Onta (477B) – General Secretary, SEBS-NA {Excused Absence : Suren Shakya (161A) Vice President, SEBS-NA} On the above-mentioned date and time, special meeting of SEBS-NA was called as per decision of agenda 3 of meeting minutes of March 30, 2002, relating to SEBS-NA Reunion. No observer requested for presence. SEBS-NA would continue to hold monthly meetings that are open to members. Please contact Suren dai 161A, if you want to be an observer for future SEBS-NA’s meetings. Regular meeting was conducted on April 28, 2002. Following is a summary for both meetings.
Agenda 1: SEBS-NA Election Eligibility It was noted that SEBS members are anxious about the election. It was also decided that an independent members (non-excomm) should determine the eligibility criteria. Kiran Sitoula is to approach Rajendra Oli, ANS President to help us. It was also noted that Suraj Basnet a an independent community leader from Washington DC has agreed to hold fair and impartial election. We recommend that candidate’s eligibility be given immediate priority.
Agenda 2: – Reunion Brochure It was noted that annual reunion brochure have the following feature at minimum. a) Financial Statement summary – (with possible peer review). b) Description of projects – Past, present and future. c) Article summary.
Agenda 3: Meeting of Washington D.C. SEBSers on April 27, 2002 Many members were not able to attend due to prior commitment and inconvenience. Lava Karki (6th batch), Bishnu Karki (11th batch) and Kiran Sitoula (11th batch) were present at the Mount Everest Restaurant.
4. MoU Update It was noted that MoU draft #6 have been commented and that MoU #7 has been circulated.
5. Library Project SEBS-NA has already sent $750 (Rs. 58,388) to SEBS for the Library Project. for confirming the receipt of USD 2,121 (NRs 1,65,120) for and Thanks to everyone involved trying to make a difference. Excomm has expressed their satisfaction over the progress so far. Transparency through web about communication has helped members to participate in the project.
6. Fund transfer 9th batch Gyanendra Pandey from 9th batch has acknowledged the receipt of 9th batch Fund ($1,371 or Rs 1,06,732) that was transferred from here.

SEBS-NA has received the following since our last meeting:
1. $10 from MokoNet. Inc, NY for Mr. Pushkar Shah 2. $150 Matching Gife Contribution from AEGON Transamerica Foundation for Angira Kharel 827A 3. $50 from Aalok Kharel 772A. SEBS-NA would like to thank them for their contribution.
Other: PAP Summary was not accomplished since the last meeting. SEBS Networking is in full-swing. SEBS-NA excomm will be focusing on plans to implement leadership training for the members next year.
